Grass

I got a feeling that my illustrations would have lot's of grass as I am doing a book about snails. 

So what I did was I created a document of 'grass', so I could reuse my grass.

Using my grass texture> Open on Photoshop> Lasso tool> Create grass shapes> Cmd+C>  Open an A4 document> Cmd+V

Grass texture - I chose this colour paint and texture on purpose so I don't have to change the Hue & Saturation on Photoshop. 

I had had to mix green and a bit of yellow to get this green tone of colour

This is my 'light colour grass' to represent grass in general. I placed one of my textured papers and changed the Hue & Saturation to get this greeny grass colour.
